As the year comes to an end, I would like to say I’m looking back at everything I’ve accomplished. I could do that, but I prefer to look forward at all the things I still want to accomplish. One of those is to try to keep up with changes in the web. The most exciting for me at this point is the option of using CSS for animation rather than Flash.
I’m not talking about doing a few transitions or changing colors. I’m talking about full-on, things moving across the screen animation. Now, never being one to shy away from a challenge, I’m planning on jumping right in and animating both a tractor and insects for a current project I’m working on. If it works, I will have raised the bar for myself.
Having it not work, simply isn’t an option. Wish me luck!
Wow, has it really been that long since my last post? My how time flies when you’re having fun!
This week, I’m finishing up another successful semester, which means in addition to my client work, I also have over 100 final exams and 18 (rather large) projects to grade. Oh, and Christmas shopping and baking to finish up. No wonder it feels like I’m always behind on everything!
In what little downtime I’ve had lately, I’ve been trying to keep my graphic design skills fresh by following some tutorials. I don’t care how good you think you are, everyone can benefit by following tutorials now and then!
All right, break time is over. My inner slave driver is telling me to get back to work and she can be a real pain in the you-know-what, so until next time…
Most times, I hate seeing Labor Day come around because it signals the end of summer. This year, though, I’m kind of looking forward to it.
Between classes starting again, design work picking up, and a laundry fairy who’s apparently on strike, I need the extra day this weekend brings. I’m hoping that I can use the time not to get caught up on everything — that’s something that I’m not sure will ever really happen — but rather to get things under control again. (My to-do list seems to be growing at an exponential rate!)
Web changes, Flash projects, illustrations, web applications, and grading are what my holiday weekend holds. While I’m doing all of that, if anyone sees the Laundry Fairy, tell her to get her patootie over here and get to work!
